Interior Design Project – Mountain Lakes II, NJ Residence

In this project, my task was to transition a downsized space into a refined yet cozy sanctuary for a family whose cherished memories were as abundant as their collection of oversized furniture. Despite the need to part with many beloved pieces, the essence of their home remained intact, anchored by their treasured artworks and a desire for a harmonious blend of cool and warm tones.

Across the formal living room, dining room, and family room, the objective was clear: to infuse each space with a sense of elevated comfort while tastefully integrating the sentimental pieces that held significant meaning.

The design journey unfolded with a delicate balance of old and new, as the interior designer artfully curated a selection of furnishings, fabrics, and accents. Subtle patterns and textures were deftly employed to add depth and character to each room, while ensuring a cohesive flow throughout the home.

In the formal living room, a symphony of muted hues set the stage for the family’s beloved art collection to take center stage, creating a captivating visual narrative that invited exploration and reflection.

In the dining room, a palette of warm tones and soft lighting fostered an inviting atmosphere, where shared meals became moments to savor amidst the curated elegance of the space.

And in the family room, plush seating and tactile textiles beckoned relaxation, while carefully curated artwork added personality and charm, infusing the space with warmth and character.

Throughout the project, I paid keen attention to detail and sensitivity to the clients’ desires. I  ensured every element of the design spoke to their unique story, while creating a home that was not only aesthetically pleasing but deeply meaningful—a testament to the art of downsizing with style and sentiment.
