Tickets Now Available for the Pillsbury Castle Project ASID Design Home 2024 Historic Showcase Tour in Minneapolis 

(MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA — April 2, 2024)  The Pillsbury Castle Project and ASID Design Home 2024 in collaboration with NARI is opening its doors to the public for the first time and has released tickets for tours to take place July 12-28, 2024. Tickets are $35 per person with timed entry slots every 15 minutes available Wednesday-Sunday 10 AM – 4 PM with the last entry at 3:15 PM. ASID Design Home 2024 is a showcase home tour offering a rare opportunity for interior design, remodeling, and history enthusiasts alike to explore this impeccable preservation and restoration project. “The Pillsbury Castle has been undergoing a complete renovation since late summer 2023,” says Executive Director and the homeowner, Matthew Trettel. “My partner, Ryan Hanson, and I could not be more excited to share the incredible work that the designers, remodelers, and architects have done to preserve this historic home while updating the spaces for modern living. There is no other home tour like this in the Midwest, attendees will be amazed at the level of detail.” 

This impressive Tudor Revival was built in 1903 for Alfred F. Pillsbury, son of Pillsbury Co-Founder John S. Pillsbury. In March 2023, Matthew Trettel and Ryan Hanson purchased the home with the intention to reimagine and preserve the property. The house has been under construction for a number of months including plumbing and electrical updates; reconfiguring the floorplan to align closer to the original; and restoring historic portions of the house, all with eight NARI member remodelers working in tandem. Over the next 3 months, 30 local designers will transform each room featuring luxury furnishings and the latest interior design ideas. 

Four levels of magnificent architecture complete with a few surprises are sure to leave the eye in awe. Hand-carved Honduran Mahogany and Quartersawn white oak line the main level leading into the Great Hall, Music Room, Grand Salon, Kitchen, and Art Gallery. Leading up the Grand Staircase are two floors of premier bedrooms, en suite bathrooms, and custom features abound. The lower level lends itself to a luxury oasis with a plush lounge, home theater, hidden speakeasy, and a Billiards Room situated in an imported 17th-century English library. 

Attendees will enjoy a multitude of happenings at the Pillsbury Castle including a vintage market, boutique shops, pop-up culinary experiences and VIP events like the Opening Night Gala, chef dinners, bourbon tastings in the speakeasy, art exhibitions, and many more to be announced.

About The Pillsbury Castle Project

 Founded in 2023, The Pillsbury Castle Project is an activation to preserve a historic home built in 1903 for Alfred F. Pillsbury, son of Pillsbury Co-Founder John S. Pillsbury. This magnificent home is prominently situated on a corner lot in the Whittier neighborhood of Minneapolis with a distinctive facade of Platteville limestone.
